About

Grahame Mellanby completed a college course in 1976 resulting in the advanced City and Guilds of London exams in Photography. After training initially with Michael Frost, he attained distinguished professional qualifications: Associate of the British Institute of Professional Photography in 1984 and Associate of the Master Photographers Association and Associate of the Royal Photographic Society. To widen his experience he then headed the social section of one of the photographic concerns in England as their Manager.

Grahame has extensive commercial experience commissioned by companies throughout the U.K. Imaginart supplies images, from landscapes to abstract photographic art, for hotels and businesses across Europe. Awards

One of only eight professional photographers in the world to hold the qualification Craftsman with Distinction of the Guild of Wedding Photographers. In three consecutive years, he was awarded ‘Wedding Photographer of the year’, from 1984-86 and was honoured with Wedding Photographer of the year 1996. Having been highly commended in the Kodak Gold Awards judged by his profession, he has also won two Kodak portrait awards in 1987/95. During 1992 Grahame Mellanby won the prestigious KONICA award for Wedding Portraiture from the British Institute of Professional Photography. Lecturing to professionals and amateurs alike has taken him around the world and he has been called upon to judge many competitions. Grahame Mellanby has many illustrated articles published and has broadcast on both BBC and commercial radio programmes.

Grahame is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, awarded independently to people who have made a distinguished contribution to their chosen profession.
